I've seen the twitter account in SIG's here as well as it mentioned a few times, so what is it?

The team is very secretive when it comes to cleanphone.

All I was able to gather until now was that it is in the works for a very long time and the token auth system of cryptostorm_darknet somehow is (deeply?!) integrated into whatever cleanphone is doing or made of.

It seems like the first revelations will be made soon when cryptostorm is running in full production mode.

I am as eager as you to learn more about this project because I am very unhappy with my phone running Android what is a product of Google. This is why I keep a close eye on firefoxOS and Ubuntu Touch.

But after all security is also a hardware issue! So maybe cleanphone is not just an OS but tackles the problem on a hardware level.

I'm a person that normally does not enjoy endless speculations about something totally obscure but this project really touches a tender spot in my fortification structure.

I made sure to get Cyanogenmod on my phone, works great and i am happy with it, they set up their own keys seperate from Google, making the Google centered Master Key exploits useless. I have absolutely no Google products or apps on my phone, including the Play Store.

I use text secure until CM gets their securesms utilizing PGP/GPG up and running, and I am running A VPN at all times, with a firewall on 24/7.

Havent had a problem yet.

The stock android ROMs i could never seeing how each provider rolled in their own monitoring shit, especially verizon, and expecially HTC.

And running Nightlies there are security patches and updates every 24hrs, which i think is great. But Nothing is ever perfect.

Cleanphone is something im excited for :)

The Privacy Guard on CM is great too because it sandboxes all apps that you select away from your Data, from SD card to contacts, to GPS, to anything really. It keeps the app to itself.

Over the course of time I came around to be on CM without any gapps on it. Really relaxing experience right now if you ignore the fact that android is a pretty shitty security disaster. (as far as I can tell.) Not that iOS is any better. I talk about being exploitable by off the mill hackers and NSA or other secret services alike.

I just want some REAL linux OS on my smart phone or something totally new (and hopefully open source) like cleanphone. No matter if voluntary or not but companies like Microsoft, Google and Apple are provably cooperating with the NSA so there is absolutely no reason to trust them when it comes to their respective OS. The sooner we get to shake off from those companies and everything they offer the better!

Only in the period(s) of time when PJ isn't in trouble with the law (kind of joking).
